Hua Lamphong Railway Station was established in the reign of King Rama V during a huge development. It was contructed in 1910 on an animal farm called "Hua Lamphong" which has later become an original name of the railway station. There is no clear evidence of its original name. Many causes are assumed as follows. Some belive that "Hua Lamphong" possibly came from "Wua Lamphong"due to a cow farm owned by Muslim man. The owner usually let his cows walking around themselves for glass. There for the cows got energized and run around wildly. It initiated a name "Wua Lamphong (Wild Cows)" and finally became "Hua Lamphong". Khunphra Thamnithet Tuayharn (Yoo Udomslip) claimed that Hua Lamphong was not derived from Wua Lamphong. It had a meaning of a source of water which was used for planting. Consequently,the land was divided into a number of growing sections so it was called Hua Lamphong,@ Bangkok Thailand.
